DANIEL J. GLUCK

Daniel Gluck is a member of the New York Bar and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the U.S. Court of International Trade and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.  Mr. Gluck attended St. John'sUniversity (B.A., 1977) and St. John's University Law School (1980). Mr. Gluck was clerk to Judges Abraham D. Sofaer (1983-1985), former U.S. District Judge, Southern District of New York and Legal Advisor to the U.S. State Department; and John M. Walker, Jr. (1985-1986), formerly District Judge for the Southern District of New York, and currently Chief Judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. He was also an Attorney Advisor for the U.S. Customs Service, Washington Headquarters, Office of Regulations and Rulings, in three Branches: Value, Special Programs and Admissibility Branch; Special Classifications Branch; and Miscellaneous Penalties Branch.

Mr. Gluck is a former instructor for Pace University's World Trade Institute, (“WTI”), teaching a course in Customs and International Trade Law; and presenting seminars on Importing Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals; Customs Law; and E-Commerce for the WTI; Unz & Company; and on behalf of the firm.  He has lectured at several Embassies and government agencies, the Fashion Institute of Technology and at several importing companies. He has spoken at the Annual Meeting of the American Association of Exporters and Importers on the topic of Understanding the Reasonable Care Requirements and Classification of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Products; the annual meeting of the West Coast Customs Brokers on the topic of Brokers’ Responsibilities Under the Mod Act; and the International Bar Association Annual Meeting on the topic of NAFTA Country of Origin Requirements.  He is a member of the American and New York State Bar Associations, as well as the Customs and International Trade Bar Association, where he has served on its Special Committee on Electronic Interface.

Mr. Gluck has authored numerous articles on the subject of Customs and International Trade Law appearing in the New York Law Journal; World Wide Shipping Magazine; Global Trade Magazine; the U.S. Customs House Guide; and the North American Free Trade Guide.  He has also been a featured guest on Sky Radio discussing the Customs Modernization Act.

In addition to practice before U.S. Customs and Border Protection and the Commerce Department, Mr. Gluck has represented clients in matters involving the Environmental Protection Agency, Food & Drug Administration, U.S. Postal Service, U.S. Trade Representative, Federal Trade Commission, International Trade Commission, Department of Agriculture, Consumer Product Safety Commission, Fish & Wildlife Service, and the Patent & Trademark Office.  He is a former member of the American Association of Exporters and Importers, having served on its Chemical Committee.

Mr. Gluck has appeared before the Court of International Trade; U.S. Federal District Court, Southern and Eastern Districts of New York; and U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
